| Product Introduction | The NADP⁺/NADPH redox couple is distinct from NAD⁺/NADH and is primarily dedicated to anabolic reactions and antioxidant defense. The balance between the oxidized (NADP⁺) and reduced (NADPH) forms regulates numerous metabolic pathways and cellular redox status. This kit employs an enzymatic cycling reaction that greatly amplifies the signal from a small amount of coenzyme. By using specific enzymes to selectively destroy either NADP⁺ or NADPH in separate sample aliquots, the kit allows for the determination of total NADP(H), NADPH, and by calculation, NADP⁺. |
| Product Application | • Investigation of cellular redox state and oxidative stress in diseases, aging, and toxicology. • Research on metabolic pathways that produce or consume NADPH (PPP, IDH, folate metabolism). • Studies of photosynthesis, nitrogen assimilation, and biosynthetic processes in plants and microbes. • Evaluation of drug mechanisms that target NADPH metabolism or redox balance. |
| Product Advantages | • Unmatched Sensitivity: The enzymatic cycling principle allows detection of very low levels of coenzymes, perfect for limited samples like sorted cells or tissue biopsies. • Differential Quantification: Uniquely enables separate measurement of NADPH and NADP⁺ from the same sample, providing the critical ratio. • Robust & Reproducible: The amplification method is less susceptible to sample matrix interference than direct absorbance methods. • Broad Applicability: Works with a wide range of sample types, including animal tissues, cultured cells, plants, and bacteria. |
