Product Name Recombinant Human Erythropoietin/EPO Protein
Catalog No. IGM-HMM-0087
Description Erythropoietin (EPO) is a glycoprotein hormone best known for its role in erythropoiesis, where it stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of erythroid progenitor cells. CFU-E (erythrocyte colony-forming units) cells can only differentiate into red blood cells in the presence of EPO. In adult mammals, physiological levels of EPO are primarily maintained by the kidneys, whereas in fetuses or newborn mammals, EPO levels are maintained by the liver. EPO also exerts various non-hematopoietic activities, including vascularization and proliferation of smooth muscle, neuroprotection during hypoxia, and stimulation of certain B cells. This recombinant human EPO contains 166 amino acid residues and is expressed in HEK293 cells. It is supplied as a lyophilized powder and is characterized by high activity, high purity, and the absence of tags.
Test Procedure Centrifuge the sample before opening the vial. Reconstitute with deionized water to a concentration of at least 0.1 mg/mL.
For first-time use, it is recommended to aliquot the protein into single-use portions to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Host HEK293 without tag
