| Description | Gardnerella vaginalis (GV) is a pathogen associated with nonspecific vaginitis that was first isolated by Gardner in 1954 from vaginal secretions of patients with vaginitis. In addition to causing bacterial vaginosis (BV), GV can also lead to premature birth, puerperal fever, neonatal sepsis, chorioamnionitis, postpartum sepsis, septicemia, urinary tract infections, perinephric abscesses, cystitis, cervicitis, unsanitary abortions, and postoperative infections. It is a newly recognized pathogen of sexually transmitted diseases and an opportunistic pathogen. Therefore, the rapid and sensitive diagnosis of this pathogen is of great significance. |

| Test Procedure | Sample DNA Preparation: Purify DNA from N+2 samples using your preferred method. This kit is compatible with most nucleic acid extraction kits on the market. If there are N samples, perform N+2 extractions, including one sample preparation positive control and one sample preparation negative control. Sample Prep Positive Control: Prepare by adding 10μL of 1000-fold diluted Gardnerella vaginalis PCR Positive Control to an appropriate amount of water (depending on the required starting amount of the sample). Sample Prep Negative Control: Prepare using water directly. Place the extracted template DNA on ice for later use. Setting up PCR Reaction (40μL System): For N+2 samples, add one PCR positive control and one PCR negative control during the PCR setup, requiring a total of N+4 reactions. Gel Electrophoresis Detection: Take 10-20 μL of PCR product. Detect the PCR products via gel electrophoresis. The PCR Mix provided in this product can be directly loaded after amplification; there is no need to add loading buffer separately. The PCR product positive control must show a band of 551bp; the negative control must show no amplification. Otherwise, the experiment is invalid. For samples with no amplification products, repeat the PCR amplification after 10-fold dilution to rule out PCR inhibition. |
| Storage and Transportation | Transport at low temperature. Store at -20°C. Shelf life is one year. The positive control should be stored separately to avoid contamination of other reagents. |
