| Product Name | Saliva DNA/RNA Collector |
| Catalog No. | SM-HMM-0073 |
| Description | Saliva DNA/RNA Collector is a method of obtaining DNA/RNA without harm or pain to the human body. This method does not cause any discomfort to the collector, and thus it maximizes the DNA/RNA collection sample range of genetic research. The saliva collector is mainly composed of a collection funnel, a collection tube, a saliva preservation solution and a collection tube cap. Saliva preservation solution are stored in the funnel with sealed plastic film. After usage, mixing the liquid and saliva at room temperature for long-term preservation of sample DNA/RNA. This product is small and portable. |
| Storage | 15-30°C and keep away from light. |
| Shelf Life | 2 years |
| Applications | Used to collect, preserve and transport human oral saliva samples of DNA. |
| Usage | 1. 30 mins before the saliva collection, water rinse mouth and start the fast; 2. Relax and massage the cheeks, spit into the funnel until the saliva (without bubbles) reaches the saliva filling line; 3. Use one hand hold the tube to ensure that the collection tube is in an upright position. Press the splash cover with your thumb until you hear a click, make sure the lid is tight; 4. Use the other hand gently pull the seal tape so that the DNA stabilizer slowly flow mixes with saliva; 5. Keep the collection tube in an upright position, remove the hopper, and use the collection cap to cover and tighten the collection tube; 6. Shake the collection tube up and down 10 to 15 times and discard the funnel. |
In recent years, the demand for non-invasive biological sample collection has surged across genetic research, forensic analysis, and molecular biology fields. Traditional DNA/RNA collection methods, such as blood draws, often involve invasiveness, discomfort, and the need for professional operation, which limits sample accessibility—especially for special groups like children, the elderly, and individuals with needle phobias.
Saliva, as a readily available biological fluid containing epithelial cells, white blood cells, and free nucleic acids, has emerged as an ideal alternative for non-invasive sample collection. It eliminates the pain and risk of infection associated with invasive methods while ensuring the integrity of DNA/RNA for downstream applications.
The development of saliva DNA/RNA collectors addresses the core needs of researchers: convenient sample acquisition, stable preservation of nucleic acids, and compatibility with standard laboratory workflows. Our Saliva DNA/RNA Collector (Cat.No: SM-HMM-0073) is engineered to meet these demands, providing a reliable tool that expands the scope of genetic research by enabling widespread, stress-free sample collection.
This product is designed exclusively for research purposes, not for clinical use, ensuring compliance with research-focused quality standards and application scenarios such as gene sequencing, genotyping, and molecular diagnostics research.
Non-invasive and pain-free collection: Eliminates the discomfort of invasive sampling methods, making it suitable for all age groups and populations, including those who are hesitant to undergo blood draws.
Integrated design with pre-stored preservative: The collection funnel contains sealed saliva preservation solution, avoiding the need for additional reagent preparation and simplifying the sampling process.
Room temperature preservation capability: After mixing saliva with the built-in DNA stabilizer, samples can be stored at room temperature for extended periods without compromising the integrity of DNA/RNA.
Compact and portable: Small in size and lightweight, the collector is easy to carry, enabling on-site sampling, remote sample collection, or at-home use by research participants.
Clear and intuitive operation steps: Marked saliva filling lines and click-lock mechanisms ensure accurate sampling volume and secure sealing, reducing operational errors even for non-professional users.
Leak-proof and contamination-resistant: The sealed plastic film for the preservative and tight-fitting caps prevent leakage during transportation and avoid cross-contamination of samples.
High nucleic acid yield and quality: The specialized preservation solution effectively inhibits nuclease activity, maintaining the stability of DNA/RNA and ensuring high extraction efficiency for downstream experiments.
Broad applicability in research: Compatible with a wide range of genetic research applications, including PCR, next-generation sequencing (NGS), and gene expression analysis.
Time and cost-saving: Reduces the need for professional sampling personnel, shortens sample collection time, and lowers overall research costs compared to invasive methods.
User-friendly for both researchers and participants: Simple operation steps minimize training requirements, while the non-invasive nature improves participant compliance in large-scale research projects.
Long shelf life: With a 2-year shelf life when stored at 15-30°C away from light, the product offers reliable inventory management for research institutions.
Strict quality control: Each unit undergoes rigorous inspection to ensure consistent performance, including preservative effectiveness and structural integrity of the collection components.
For research use only, not for clinical use.
