| Principle / Technology | Bile acids are oxidized by 3-alpha-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase with Thio-NAD+ to form 3-ketosteroids and Thio-NADH. A reverse reaction regenerates bile acids, amplifying the signal for measurement of Thio-NADH absorbance. |
